Terms of Service

This is a starting template, not final legal copy — please have a lawyer review it before you rely on it, especially the sections on liability and coach/student relationships.

1. What HandpickCoach is

HandpickCoach is a discovery platform that connects students and parents with independent tutors, arts instructors and sports coaches across Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia. We are not the employer of any coach listed on the platform, and lessons are arranged directly between the student (or their parent/guardian) and the coach.

2. Coach verification

We review the certification and background documents coaches submit before approving a profile — including NROC registration in Singapore, MSCR registration in Malaysia, and the equivalent local certification in the other countries we operate in. This review does not guarantee a coach's ongoing conduct, competence, or certification validity, and parents/students should exercise their own judgment when booking and attending lessons.

3. Bookings and payment

When you book a session, you pay the session fee set by the coach, in the coach's local currency. Payment is held by HandpickCoach and released to the coach after the session takes place. Bookings made within 48 hours of the session start time are non-refundable once paid — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.

4. Coach subscription fees

Coaches list on HandpickCoach under a monthly or yearly subscription plan, typically starting with a free trial period. Subscription pricing is shown on our pricing page and may change with notice to active coaches.

5. Account responsibilities

Coaches are responsible for keeping their certification documents current and for promptly informing us if a certification lapses or is revoked. Parents and students are responsible for keeping their account details accurate and for supervising young learners as appropriate.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Continued use of HandpickCoach after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
