Safeguarding Policy
Last updated: 10/17/2026
HandpickCoach is used by families across Southeast Asia to find tutors, arts instructors and sports coaches for children and teens. Protecting young learners is central to how we run the platform.
1. Coach vetting
Before a coach profile goes live, we review the certification and background documents they submit โ including NROC registration in Singapore, MSCR registration in Malaysia, and the applicable local certification in Vietnam and Indonesia. Coaches working with minors are expected to hold a valid, up-to-date certification for their country at all times.
2. Code of conduct
Coaches on HandpickCoach are expected to conduct lessons professionally and only for their stated purpose, communicate with students and parents through appropriate channels, never ask a minor to meet, communicate, or share information outside of what's needed for the lesson, and report any safety concern they become aware of.
3. Guidance for parents and guardians
We recommend parents and guardians review a coach's profile and certification badge before booking, stay reachable during lessons (especially first sessions), consider being present or nearby for young children's in-person lessons, and use HandpickCoach's messaging and booking system rather than moving communication off-platform before a lesson is confirmed.
4. Reporting a concern
If you ever have a safety concern about a coach or a lesson โ behavior that felt inappropriate, a certification that seems outdated, or anything else โ contact us immediately at hello@handpickcoach.com or through the report option on a coach's profile. We take every report seriously and will investigate promptly, which may include suspending a coach's profile while we look into it.
5. Our commitment
We review coach certifications on an ongoing basis and remove any coach from the platform who violates this policy or whose certification lapses.
